Bryan will be going "home" to Peru over spring break on a mission trip. He worked in fundraisers selling and bagging coffee, yard sales and sending out letters requesting support. The response from the letters was overwhelmingly positive. In the end, he was able to actually help out another student who would not have had enough to go! He will be in Lima in March and his Arizona State Younglife group will be working with a college ministry in the capital. Pray for him and his group in terms of impact and safety.
Proof from Bryan's MySpace that you can take the boy out of Peru but not Peru out of the boy:
"You know your from Peru when: Aji goes with everything. Putting 8 people on a Yamaha 100 is second nature. Guinea pig isn’t a pet, its dinner. You’ve had donkey meat. When you had the donkey meat it was almost as bad as the beef. You use one-ply napkins. Twix bars are a luxury. You eat fried shrimp and calamari more than you do peanut butter. You define hot as anything over 100 F. Cold is anything lower than 90 F. You’ve forgotten what root beer taste like. You can have the guy down the street build fireworks out of bamboo. You are of the opinion that air conditioning is for sissys. Your diet consists mostly of potatoes, seafood, beans, and hot sauce. When people talk about purple corn you don’t think their crazy."
